I started Girls Talk STEM to help support the next generation of women in STEM, and provide a community of support for them to rely on. I’m passionate about STEM and gender equality, and love using technology to make a difference in the world!

I decided to join GirlsTalkSTEM because I am passionate about STEM and want to change the STEM field by making it more inclusive. I believe that we should have more female representation in STEM, as it is a heavily male-dominated field. I want to empower girls to learn about and be involved in STEM so we can create a better and more inclusive future!

I joined GirlsTalkSTEM because women are underrepresented in STEM. I was the only girl in my STEM class in middle school. I want women's voices to be heard and represented through podcasts and help girls find where they fit in STEM through summer classes. I will spread information and hope to encourage other women to pursue STEM-related careers and not be intimidated by gender.

There are a countless amount of times I have experienced being the only girl in the room when involved in STEM related projects. I want to ensure younger generations of girls never have to go through that.

Hi! I’m Sanjana Viswa, a junior and Head of Outreach for GirlsTalkSTEM. I joined GirlsTalkSTEM because I know how isolating STEM can feel, as I was often one of the only girls in my physics and computer engineering classes. That experience drives me to create a supportive space where more girls feel encouraged to pursue STEM. I’m passionate about engineering and preparing for a future in the field through my robotics team and the NCSSM online program. As Head of Outreach, I’m excited to connect with others and help girls discover their potential in STEM!
